Profile

The Research Shop is a Scottish based research company specialising in public sector social research. Directed by Linda Nicholson, The Research Shop provides a wealth of experience from government, academic and commercial research sectors to provide a highly professional research service.

Our current and recent clients include the Scottish Executive, NHS Health Scotland, Communities Scotland, sportscotland, NHS QIS, Scottish Council Foundation and the Scottish Road Safety Campaign.

We have vast experience of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and have conducted research in a wide range of fields including health, housing, transport, education, criminal justice, deprivation and equalities.

Each project is managed closely by the Director who brings to the task her extensive experience as a researcher and as a commissioner of research. Her previous work included over a decade as a Government researcher within the Scottish Executive.

We adhere to the Social Research Association and Market Research Society research codes of conduct.

Mission

The Research Shop seeks to provide a flexible and accommodating service with the versatility to draw upon the skills of research experts in relevant fields as appropriate on a project-by-project basis. This enables us to provide, consistently, a highly skilled project team customised for each study, equipped with the latest knowledge on the topics and methods in question.
